How to decrease the bandwidth of my broadband connection?

i use skype for video chatting & i am using broadband internet which gives limited usage of 600 mb & its speed is between 1-1.5 mbps. When i video chat in 10 minutes above 50 mb gets used so is there any way to decrease my bandwidth so there is less usage & i dont want high quality video can i install a net accelerator & give a speed limit to it ? is Google accelerator a good one?

    This will simply stop the connection from working correctly. You will always use this much bandwidth for it, even if you restrict the bandwidth, right up the the point where there is not enough bandwidth to maintain the connection. To use any such service you really need to be on an unlimited usage plan. And accelerators actually increase bandwidth usage.
