Is it a good idea to allow Facebook apps to access your info ? What does that do/allow?

I just read something that the info which apps can access is very great.............. So when it comes to that tab asking whether to allow apps to access your information, is okay to do that? Or is it better not to? What happens if I allow them to? If i don't is there anything bad that will happen (like options disabled.... or such)???

Any time you let a web application to access your information, you are opening up a channel for the hackers to access your workstation. The suggestion is better not doing that at all. There won’t be anything bad if you do not allow the access.
